A new player in Spain
I have the feeling, that those guys could become a strong contender for loquo (a kijiji company). Habitamos, which means “we live” in Spanish (I love this name!), was launched in the end of 2004, having an remarkable amount of listings today already. I will feature the Barcelona site in my statistics from now on.
As always, when I have the feeling that kijiji has become a new competitor, my heart jumps in joy… Keep it up folks, I want to hear about more sites like habitamos…

Funny, they all look the same, all these classifieds pages. Habitamos (I love the name too) has a good success, if they have launched end 2004.
Does someone know about the background? Do they spend much money for marketing? etc.
Funny too, that we are talking about a product, which - in a technical sense - is absolutely equal between all the competitors.

We are very happy with the growth given that our marketing budget of 1000Euros/month is not that much!
All these sites might look the same from the outsite (very simple), but internally they are monsters! At least in our case, 95% of the development happens internally (Intranet) trying to automate Ad Quality tasks.
From a bit of research I have done, I actually believe that technically Craigslist, Vivastreet and Habitamos are superior to some of the other websites, but I do expect Kijiji to soon produce a more mature within the next 12 months.
