Samstag, den 30. Juli 2005

Rome is Classified Mekka these days: Especially for the new and strong contender from vivastreet. In Berlin, everybody left the city for holidays, as listings went down strongly.

Flamboyance once more…

Freitag, den 22. Juli 2005

Summertime seems to be craigslist time. CL-sites are growing all over the world these days. Despite the rest of classified world. Have a look. My thesis: craiglist users are using their list for freetime activities, when they are travelling etc. And kijiji is a place for the serious guys, who are gone fishing these days […]

sorry, anglophilists and germanophobists, this gotta be in german…
als Konstrast zu dem hier das, was kijiji so den ganzen Tag treibt. Sich populäre Kategorien raussuchen (und versuchen dabei witzig zu sein). Okay, ganz nett, aber flamboyant? NoNoNo!

List in Space!

Freitag, den 22. Juli 2005

Can anybody imagine that cooperate kijiji would do something flamboyant like that? I don’t think so!

Something happening in Rome

Samstag, den 16. Juli 2005

Ciao! Vivastreet approaches Italy in cooperation with virgilio, an italian portal. Good thing to see that those guys from france keep fighting. Thanx to Yannick, who kindly reminded me to have a look.
As you can see in this week’s stats, they already are ahead of kijiji Rome in one category: personals. Keep this spirit, folks!

By the way, maybe last weeks’ independence day caused this listing rollercoster in the US? This would be […]

Rediff India starts Auctions

Sonntag, den 10. Juli 2005

“Its too late baby, now its too late” (C. King)
India’s online auction history:
1999: Baazee started (with BIG money from Murdoch)
2004: Baazee bought by eBay
2005a: eBay India launched
2005b: Rediff starts Auctions
There’s only one question: Why? Maybe to have fun looking at those early days of the Rediff Feedback System, where obviously professional sellers have -1-ratings, dealing […]

kijji Berlin and Craigslist Berlin lost listings in the last week… And opusforum is doing fine!

See winners party

Freitag, den 8. Juli 2005

Craigslist Montreal is loosing every week, kijiji is winning every week, strenghtening its quickly reached position as market leader. French seems to be the key. Why Craig isn’t providing different language versions, nobody knows (he keeps announcing an french version for Paris, but nothing happened since two months). For the kijiji’s thats enough good news […]
